Would Mica be the base and it press good and have good color pay off? Or since it still has iron oxides and Ultramarines in it would it not press well and have bad color pay off?Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-59907851488833647472013-03-20T10:32:45.005-07:002013-03-20T10:32:45.005-07:00thanks for the tutorial! Talc is the first ingredient. I'm tempted to re-press it using just alcohol since I don't have any pressing medium; however, I'm scared it's going to turn rock-hard and have no payoff.

Do you have any experience re-pressing broken matte eyeshadows or blushes? What do you recommend I do? If it helps, it's a Cargo blush. The ingredients are: Talc, Lecithin, Nylon-12, Silica, Polyethylene, Zinc Stearate, Bismuth Oxychloride, Castor Oil, Silk Powder, Dimethicone, Coco Caprylate/Caprate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben. May Contain: Calcium Silicate, Methicone, Mineral Oil, Ultramarines, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Methylcellulose, Polysorbate 85, Iron Oxides, Carmine, D&C Red 6 Barium Lake, D&C Red 7 Calcium Lake, D&C Red 33 Aluminum Lake, D&C Red 36 Barium Lake, D&C Yellow 6 Aluminum Lake, D&C Yellow 5 Zirconium Lake, FD&C Yellow 5, FD&C Yellow 6

Please help me save my favourite (and 1st) blush!BooBooNinjahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05009091822197951584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-14658292652763608112012-03-18T21:06:15.227-07:002012-03-18T21:06:15.227-07:00stella is also a matte base with sparkles like roy...stella is also a matte base with sparkles like royal sugar and paperdoll. i actually tried for the same wet sand consistency with these but it ended up looking like paste. when they were dry, they looked great in the pot but when i tried swatching them there was little to no color payoff. i guess until i figure out something better, i'll use these loose for now : )Damabutterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08953221375603161885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-90140619692882883612012-03-18T15:05:28.021-07:002012-03-18T15:05:28.021-07:00Hmmm honestly, i'm not sure. Royal Sugar and Paperdoll are quite matte and you may have to try pressing them when they're a little more damp to ensure a more cohesive product, did you try doing that (you didn't mention it so I thought I'd ask). Perhaps also try that with Stella? I don't own Stella so I can't attest to the texture and if it's really matte with sparkle or a shimmery eyeshadow.Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-15709402345394507152012-03-18T12:38:44.418-07:002012-03-18T12:38:44.418-07:00Hi Mai!! first thanks for this post. i've been...Hi Mai!! first thanks for this post. i've been looking for a good pressing tutorial and this was the easiest to follow. second, i also have the goldilux loose shadow from sugarpill. even though i saw where you tried to press yours and didn't like the result, i decided to give it a whirl anyway. i didnt have any glycerin so i just used two drops of the tkb pressing medium and added alcohol to get the consistency you descibed. i actually got a really great result. it still maintained its original sparkle when swatched and when i applied it to my eye i had little to no fallout. i took pictures but i don't see a way to link them : ( what i did have trouble pressing though were royal sugar, stella, and paperdoll from sugarpill. any advice? do you think the glycerine would actually help these to produce a better pressed shadow?Damabutterflyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08953221375603161885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-80746530928598569882012-03-07T23:46:26.881-08:002012-03-07T23:46:26.881-08:00Hmm pressing it while it was still pretty damp did...Hmm pressing it while it was still pretty damp didn't help?Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-10975105314939662832012-03-07T23:00:25.824-08:002012-03-07T23:00:25.824-08:00Awesome, Mai!
