It'll probably not turn out well since those colorants in particular don't work out well in pressing.Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-76881264470803486232015-03-20T04:49:25.788-07:002015-03-20T04:49:25.788-07:00I probably used too much, all around. It probably was about 1/2 tbs powder to 1 tsp liquid binder and a few drops to quite a bit of alcohol. I've tried a few methods so should I do less on the binder and more on the alcohol?Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-28332490283521566282015-03-19T22:15:30.720-07:002015-03-19T22:15:30.720-07:00Hi Khrystyn, can I ask what ratio you're using...Hi Khrystyn, can I ask what ratio you're using for your pigments? I usually don't recommend more than 1 drop per 1/4 tsp. Could you give me some examples of colors you've mixed? Could you also clarify, are you using ultramarines and oxides in your mix or are you not?Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-52436975353971209062015-03-19T21:22:15.679-07:002015-03-19T21:22:15.679-07:00I'm completely new to pressing pigments, and I...I'm completely new to pressing pigments, and I must say I've jumped the gun... I bought tons of stuff from tkb to start pressing my own shadows (I'm a makeup artist, and always could use a lot more colors), but they either turn into rocks and zero color comes off or they're a slimy mess. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I've watched a thousand videos (exaggerating obviously) and read tons of tutorials. I am working with mattes,(oxides, ultramarines, everything I just read that are best left loose), and mattes mixed with mica. I prefer matte tones because I feel like the colors are more vivid and seem to blend out better and also many people I work with aren't into shimmer. I don't know what to do!!!! I really want to press my new pigments, am I completely out of luck here?? Let me remind you, I'm a complete novice to pressing but I have the liquid binder, cap 5, matte texture base, and 99% alcohol. Please help!!Maihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11671620809035977456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6147863230490359852.post-34806227754221893172015-03-19T18:42:07.650-07:002015-03-19T18:42:07.650-07:00I can't wait to meet you in person.
