Swatches/Review: Makeup Geek Duochrome, Foiled, and Foiled Duochrome Eyeshadows

Hey everyone!

Today I have a post on the Makeup Geek Duochrome, Foiled, and Foiled Duochrome Eyeshadows that I recently picked up from PHAMExpo. The Foiled Duochrome Eyeshadows were a very limited
launch at the show and are available in limited quantities on the website so I wanted to get this post up. Unfortunately Hologram and Wildfire are sold out but it looks like Prism and Sugar Rush are still available!

From the top left going clockwise: Hologram (Foiled Duochrome), I'm Peachless (Duochrome), Wildfire (Foiled Duochrome), and In the Spotlight (Foiled).

Where to Purchase: Makeup Geek
Price: $10.00 for In the Spotlight, $6.00 for I'm Peachless, $10 for Wildfire and Hologram
Do they test on animals?: The company does not test on animals.
Packaging: The eyeshadows come as individual pans that can be put into any magnetic palette.

Like I said, the Foiled Duochrome Eyeshadows were originally exclusive to PHAMExpo but the brand just launched a limited amount of them online. They're a much better alternative to the loose duochrome pigments, which have had many packaging issues (breaking and cracking jars). Making them into Foiled Duochromes solves the problem and the Foiled formula helps maintain the duochrome-ness of the colors.

Wildfire came slightly broken so I had to repress it into the pan but it's back to its former glory after I tamped it back down.

Formula:

All the colors are pigmented, but my oily lids tend to reduce the wear time for the foiled eyeshadows. Where I typically get 8+ hours of wear with regular eyeshadows, I get around 6-7ish hours with the Foiled Eyeshadows. For Wildfire and Hologram especially, it's definitely worth the trade off. I'm Peachless is a really beautiful lid shade that looks a little "basic" but works great for brightening your eyes. In the Spotlight is a wonderful peach that is great for wearing during the summer.

Swatches:

From left to right: Hologram, I'm Peachless, In the Spotlight, and Wildfire. I applied Hologram, In the Spotlight, and Wildfire with my fingers while I used a brush for I'm Peachless. I also did an angled photo so you can see the base color for each of the duochromes.

Conclusion:

I'm a big fan of Makeup Geek Eyeshadows and this batch of colors was no exception. I truly hope that they decide to make Foiled versions of their Duochrome pigments because it makes application so much easier, and it avoids the issues they've been having with their jars! They are brilliant colors and would make a great addition to your collection.

Do you own any Makeup Geek Eyeshadows? Would you get any of the Duochrome colors?

Wildfire is stunning! I just got Fireball from Urban Decay that's somewhere between Wildfire and one of the peachier ones
