Cirque Colors Rose Quartz Nail Polish - Swatch and Review

I Purchased This

Hey everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful time during the holidays with your family! I wanted to share my thoughts on Cirque Colors Rose Quartz Nail Polish that I bought during Black Friday. I was growing out my nails for my wedding and during the process I started getting back into nail polish. I'd been following Cirque for a while but never bought anything so Black Friday seemed like perfect timing.

Cirque Rose Quartz. This is described as a "sheer milky pink nail polish with sparkling holographic flakes". Cirque says this is opaque in 2-3 coats. I have a longer free edge so I find it's mostly opaque at three coats due to the sheer formula, it'd probably be look more opaque if you have a shorter nail. The holographic flakes add a wonderful depth but some of the larger flakes don't always lay flat so you might need to use the brush to encourage it to lay down. The nail polish does dry semi matte so it benefits from a top coat to add back the shine. It's a thin formula that levels fairly well, I also get excellent wear time from it but I tend to with my longer nails.

I will admit that I didn't realize how much smaller the bottle is compared to other brands. Cirque doesn't list the size on their website (unless I'm not looking in the right place) so I assumed it was 15 mL/0.5 oz like most brands. It's actually about 3/4ths the size of your usual nail polish bottle (11 mL/0.37 oz). Regardless, it's a beautiful formula and I've already worn it for several weeks straight.

The polish is $12.00 from Cirque Colors. They do have other vendors if you don't want to buy directly from their website.

What nail polish have you been enjoying lately?

Darling Girl Glitter Potion Lip Toppers in Charmed, Divine, and Ritual - Swatches, Review, and Photos

I Purchased This

Hey everyone!

It's been a little while since I posted on the blog but I do have an explanation! I got my eyebrows microbladed and wanted to wait until my brows healed before taking any photos for the blog. I also went on vacation to see my family in France so I wasn't able to blog while overseas. I am back and I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things with more reviews/looks.

I hope you enjoy today's post, a review of the Darling Girl Glitter Potion Lip Toppers. Unlike brands that are marketing lipglosses as lip toppers (here's looking at you Jouer), these are actually water-based lip toppers meant to add glitter/shine to your favorite liquid lipsticks (without breaking them down). Though I don't always wear glitter in my everyday makeup, I still love the idea behind adding a little glitter to my lip products.

Darling Girl Glitter Potion Lip Toppers in Charmed, Divine, and Ritual

These could be a dupe for Lime Crime's Diamond Toppers or Urban Decay's Vice Special Effects Long-Lasting Water-Resistant Lip Topcoats, though I can't say if they're 100% identical since I haven't tried either. Regardless, I love finding a possible indie alternative to a mainstream product.

I got three colors in Charmed, Divine, and Ritual. There are eleven colors in total.

Darling Girl Wonder Wand Cream Eyeshadows - Swatches, Review, and Photos

I Purchased This

Hey everyone!

Today I have a review on some indie cream eyeshadows, Darling Girl's Wonder Wand Cream Eyeshadows in Dragon's Sickness and Honey Cake. It's been a long while since I've reviewed anything from indie cosmetics brands, especially since I used to blog about them a lot years ago. I'm a little out of the loop when it comes to indie cosmetics but I hope to get back into them and share some of the great handcrafted products from brands like Darling Girl.

Life's Entropy Lip Theory Liquids: Swatches and Review

I Purchased This Blogger Discount

Another product from Life's Entropy is their Lip Theory Liquids, their take on the OCC Lip Tars. These take the concept and dial it up to 11 by offering empty gloss tubes to custom mix colors and also a clear lip theory that lets you to mix any of their or your lip safe eyeshadows with. I appreciate how the concept really lets you customize the gloss you do want. These are a vegan product too.

I got a full size and four samples of the lip theory liquids to try out.

Darling Girl Santy's Sneaky Sleigh Liquid Stardust - Swatch and Review

I Purchased This

I'm very excited to post this review on Darling Girl's Liquid Stardusts. I purchased this during their Black Friday sale after waiting patiently for it to go on sale. The Liquid Stardusts are Darling Girl's take on the LORAC Liquid Lustres. In essence, these are glitter topcoats that you apply over your cream or powder eyeshadows.

I purchased the shade Santy's Sneaky Sleigh, a milky white base with a pink duo chrome glitter suspended in a slightly pink tinted liquid. You may also notice a slight green duo chrome but it's not apparent when you're wearing it. Since the liquid is only mildly tinted, it shouldn't really change the eyeshadow you're wearing with it. However I did notice that over time, the pink tinge went away in the liquid.

Just an FYI: I have the previous packaging for the Liquid Stardusts, they have new packaging.

Best of Indie - Readers' Choice Awards Winners: Part Two (Bath & Body and Fragrances)

I greatly appreciate your patience everyone when it comes to the Best of Indie Winners. School has been taking up a ton of time so it took a little while to edit all the badges for the post. If you missed it, I posted Part One of the winners, focusing on the Cosmetics categories. This is Part Two, focusing on the Bath and Body and Fragrances category. I hope you find something nice to pamper your body and to smell nice with and be sure to read to the bottom for a nice surprise!

Best of Indie - Readers' Choice Awards Winners: Part One (Cosmetics)

I'm so proud to announce the final results of the Best of Indie - Readers' Choice Awards Series. I'm splitting the results into two parts, Part One (this post) where I'll cover the Cosmetics categories and Part Two (the next post) where I'll cover the Bath & Body and Fragrances categories. Here is Part Two! For each brand that won, I wrote up a little blurb about them including where they ship from and if they ship internationally. If they won multiple categories, I listed the blurb once so as not to be repetitive.

Also, I wanted to thank Joana for designing the badges with me! She was very patient in spite of all the changes I wanted to make. She was great to work with so feel free to check her portfolio out if you'd like to commission work from her.

Darling Girl Kerfluffle Pucker Paint - Swatch and Review

I Purchased This

Following along the liquid to matte trend, Darling Girl Cosmetics came out with their own rendition with their Pucker Paints. They took a brief hiatus from lip products for a few months but they came back and then some with the Pucker Paints. The Pucker Paints are in the process of being restocked but you can enjoy my swatch and review of one of the shades until they come back.

(It applies lighter than it appears in the tube, which you'll see in my swatch!)

Life's Entropy Cosmos Collection Lip Theory Satins - Swatches and Review

I Purchased This

During Black Friday, Life's Entropy was not only having a sale but also a release of two new products. One of the products was their Cosmos Lip Theory Satin Lipsticks and the other were their Brow Theories. Needless to say, I had to pick up both and I'll be reviewing the lipsticks in this post and hopefully the brow theories in another.

Introduction to Life's Entropy: Eyeshadow Swatches and Review

I Purchased This

I'm so excited to be posting about this new indie company, Life's Entropy. Life's Entropy was started by fellow blogger turned entrepreneur, Jane. Her blog is/was fantastic and her company is a great evolution of her blog (which is archived here). As part of a blogger set, I tried out one full size and six samples of their eyeshadows. The eyeshadows have a wonderful duochrome/shift to them and are incredibly beautiful on the eyes. I find these to be quite pigmented but as with all loose eyeshadows, I prefer wearing them with a primer. You can also wear these over a glitter fixative like Darling Girl's Glitter Glue or Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy for the strongest duo chrome effect. I also got a few other products (including a contour stick and lip tar facsimile) which I hope to review soon!

life's entropy eyeshadows (1 of 1)

Where to Purchase: Life's Entropy

Price: $1.50 for 1/4 tsp sample, $6.00 for a full size containing 2.0 grams.
Do they test on animals?: The company does not.
Packaging: The samples come in a plastic ziploc bag and the full size eyeshadows come in a five gram jar (sifter optional) plus a paper box.

As always, the eyeshadows were swatched dry over a primer (Too Faced Shadow Insurance) and the photos were taken in natural daylight.

Lifes entropy haul and swatches part 1

Astral Imprisonment: Shimmery dark green with a medium green shift. I am such a sucker for a green duochrome. This will be fantastic to use in a smokey eye.

Dismember: Cool toned pinky beige with a red shift. On me, it was difficult to see the red shift, more of the satin beige came out instead. I'd recommend a glitter fixative for this shade.

Exorcism: Medium purple with a green shift. This is a color combination that a lot of indies have already done but it doesn't mean that it's not beautiful. The base color is super pretty in combination with the green duochrome.

Lifes entropy haul and swatches part 2

Monkey Business: Shimmery medium golden brown with a strong gold shift.  The gold shift is really coming out in my photos. It's a nice eyeshadow, not my favorite but I do think it's a shade that can pull more or less brown depending on your skin tone.

Owl Always Love You: Shimmer reddish silver grey with a strong silver-gold shift. Out of all the shades I got, this has to be my favorite. In the swatch I think you see more of the gold shift but there's also a tinge of pink that I see. This looks fantastic over a glitter adhesive.

Shadow Walk: Shimmery reddish dark brown with gold shift and sparkle. In addition to the gold, I also see pink and green shimmers to the eyeshadow.  It may seem like a typical dark brown but it's not due to the intense amount of sparkle to it.

Turtle-ly Wicked: Semi-shimmery medium olive green with a strong gold shift. In all honesty, I got this eyeshadow because I have a tortoise.  It is a really beautiful deep mossy green with a gold shift. The base green is a little satin/matte and the gold adds nice depth to the eyeshadow.

Formula:

The eyeshadows have carnauba wax added to them which helps make it less powdery and easier to apply onto the lid. I found them all to be fairly pigmented without primer and the duochrome effect still shows through. If you'd like to get a stronger duochrome look, you can apply the eyeshadow over a glitter fixative.

Conclusion:

I'm pretty pleased with my eyeshadows from the brand. I like the duochrome nature of the eyeshadows plus it seems like they have a nice range of neutrals with some bright colors. They do offer samples so it can be very economical to try the brand out. Turtle-ly Wicked, Shadow Walk, and Owl Always Love You were my three favorites from the set.

Are there any colors from this set or from the brand that catches your eye?

Disclaimer: I purchased these eyeshadows myself with a blogger discount. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

Limnit Lipsticks New Collection/Formula Swatches and Review

Press Sample

I'm extremely excited to be posting about the new lipstick colors from Limnit Lipsticks. Limnit Lipsticks is a brand I like due to their unusual colors and vegan formula. They've recently reformulated their lipsticks and released new colors which I'm happy to post swatches of!

I have swatches of eleven of the new colors and two of the older colors. In total, there are eighteen shades to the line.

Introduction, Swatches, and Review: Limnit Lipsticks

I Purchased This Press Sample

Today I'm really excited to introduce, swatch, and review a new cosmetics company for you guys called Limnit Lipsticks. I was introduced to the company only last week and I'm already so stoked to talk about them.

I was browsing on etsy (in between my school work because why not) and came across these listings of a beautiful bright teal and deep navy blue lipstick. Intrigued, I clicked to get more information and I'm immediately hooked. I'll admit I was a little hesitant at first because the company is so new (they opened about two weeks ago) but I was comforted by the fact that they have:
  • Well-thought out branding and color names (Olly Olly Oxen Free for an Oxblood lipstick, Punkin' for a bright orange, etc)
  • Detailed Ingredient lists. Each listing has an ingredient lists and the color index (CI) number listed for each colorant. I hate having to search around for the ingredient lists so I'm thankful it's listed nice and clear.
  • Well-lit and accurate photographs and swatches that they actually took. I've been burned lately by companies stealing photographs or having poorly lit photographs so it was nice to see the photography.
They had sample jars available so I picked up three in Bewitching Hour, League of My Own, and Olly Olly Oxen Free. (I'm a sucker for lipsticks and especially a sucker for samples). The owner Trina was kind enough to gift me with two extra samples of Racin' Carnation and Deepest Taupes and Dreams.

FYI These lipsticks ARE Vegan and Cruelty Free.

Concrete Minerals Eyeshadow Swatches and Review

A while ago, I won a giveaway from Sparklecrack Central and between life getting ahead of her and us not being able to meet up at IMATS LA (there's always IMATS 2013 in 5 months!), it took a little while for her to send things my way. She was super generous with the prize and it happened to include these Concrete Minerals eyeshadows.

I've never tried Concrete Minerals before though I've heard great things about their products, especially their Electric Eye Primer. They have expanded their product line beyond mineral eyeshadows to matte eyeshadows and lip tints. I always like to see indie companies do more than just loose eyeshadows because I think it makes it feel like it means that they're always constantly innovating and expanding their business beyond eyeshadows. They're also a local company, located in Riverside about an hour away from me.

I got full size eyeshadows in Infinity and Wicked and supposedly a sample of Zealous. I say supposedly because I feel like my Zealous doesn't look and swatch like other peoples' swatches of Zealous. I'll explain more below

Product Info: The eyeshadows contain 1.5 grams and retail for $7.00.

Packaging: Unlike other indie companies, these eyeshadows are packed in 10 gram jars as opposed to 5 gram jars. Each had a sifter and seal though I'm not sure if they're shrink wrapped or not (I didn't receive them that way so I'm assuming they weren't).

Ingredients:

Infinity: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Chromium Oxide Green, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Ultramarines, Boron Nitride

Wicked: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Ultramarines, Boron Nitride

Zealous: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Chromium Oxide Green, Iron Oxide, Tin Oxide, Boron Nitride

.

In the first picture, the eyeshadows were swatched dry over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and in the second, swatched over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. The pictures were taken in natural daylight.

Infinity: "Smooth aqua blue" When I saw the shade I did think of the Tiffany blue and they actually make a note of it in the listing that it's reminiscent of that shade. It's much more blue and less green and was a dream to apply.

Wicked: "Medium purple with aquamarine shift" The listing makes the color look quite red toned whereas I think it's more of a blue-toned purple, more of a smoky grape. I had some application problems with this because it seemed to want to fade as I was applying it more than the other shades. In order to get it to look that lavender in my swatch, I had to really pack it whereas when swept on like in the second picture, the darker base shines through so it looks more like a smoky grape. There is a slight aquamarine shift when applied dry but it needed a glitter fixative like Darling Girl Glitter Glue or Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy to show off the shift best.

Zealous: "Vibrant turquoise" I'll admit I'm a little confused whether I actually got Zealous or not. Other swatches seem to show a bright turquoise blue and while I see the turquoise shift, it's on top of a darker green base. Over Pixie Epoxy, the turquoise shift takes over so the green base is less prevalent but I still don't get that vibrant blue/turquoise I've been seeing all over the place. Considering that all the other swatches look the same and mine is the odd one out, I must conclude that everyone else is right and mine is a weird one. Ambiguity about the color aside, this applied really well without fading on me.

Formula-wise: I don't think I've used many indie eyeshadows before with Boron Nitride as a base and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I did like how it helped with the adhesion. While I did like Infinity and Zealous (?), Wicked was just okay to me. I have been eyeing Lolita for ages though and might just have to pick it up.

Website-wise: I think it's a very professional looking website with the categories and search bar on the left along with pictures on the front page directing you to the specific listings. If I did have to nitpick on something, I don't like that you have to hover over each category in the sidebar to see the different product listings because I instinctively click on the category which just causes it to refresh the page.

Overall thoughts: I like them enough to consider trying out a few of their other eyeshadows. I especially am thinking about their Electric Eye Primer. I think they used to have samples of the primer along with a Blogger Sample Pack but unfortunately it looks like they stopped offering that. I think it's especially intriguing that they have "Pro Matte" eyeshadows since loose matte eyeshadows can be difficult to work with.

Have you tried Concrete Minerals before? If so, what did you think of them and if not, what would you get?

Disclaimer: I won these eyeshadows through a giveaway. None of the links in this post are affiliate links and all opinions are honest and my own.

Portland Black Lipstick Company Lipstick Swatches and Review Part Two

Here's the other half of the Portland Black Lipstick Company Lipsticks. I'm normally not a metallic lip product type of girl because I don't usually like how it shows off my lip lines but I have to say that these lipsticks are changing my mind. I think the colors look SO cool on, I'll deal with the lip lines and the weird stares I get.

I wrote a review on the formula, wear time, plus pros and cons of everything in my last post where I swatched the first installment of lipsticks so feel free to read it there. These lipsticks were all applied with my finger and all the pictures were taken without flash in natural daylight.

Portland Black Lipstick Company Gilded Lily
Portland Black Lipstick Company Gilded Lily Swatch

Gilded Lily: "Remember your postmodern culture class? You are text, and what text couldn't benefit from some illumination? This shiny, beautiful gold will highlight your every discourse" This was applied a little sheerly, you can most definitely get opaque coverage out of this. There was a slight metallic scent to this but the mint in the formula helps to overpower it.

Portland Black Lipstick Company Indigo Bridge
Portland Black Lipstick Company Indigo Bridge Swatch

Indigo Bridge: "This is a dark, metallic blue that verges on black". I loved this if only because I think it's the perfect navy blue. I have good thoughts about dark wash denim jeans.

Portland Black Lipstick Company Irony
Portland Black Lipstick Company Irony Swatch

Irony: "The rouge to our noir, Irony is a warm, metallic, red lipstick that derives its color from cosmetic grade iron oxide red (Get it? Iron-y!! Ha!)" This and Bad Penny (in my other post) tie for my favorite lipstick colors from the line. It's like the perfect metallic maroon, I love it and I want to marry it.

Portland Black Lipstick Company Lux Et Voluptas

Portland Black Lipstick Company Lux Et Voluptas Swatch

Lux et Voluptas: "A two toned lipstick It has a top layer of metallic gold backed by a charming carmine-based pink" If you've ever had MAC Rose pigment, you're already familiar with the color. This is a gilded rose and very buildable. The swatch I did here was a thin layer and you can see how the middle of my lip really caught the light. It is a little firmer than the other lipsticks which means you can do one pass and get a sheer layer (perfect for topping other lipsticks) or doing more passes to get opaque coverage

Portland Black Lipstick Company Metallurgy
Portland Black Lipstick Company Metallurgy Swatch

Metallurgy: "This unique lipstick is forged from black, green, and gold colors to produce a truly unusual metallic experience. The results are surprisingly sophisticated but with the primitive boldness you have come to expect from Portland Black Lipstick Company products" An olive lipstick is probably a strange sight but oddly enough I really like the color. It really reminds me of army fatigues .

x-default

Portland Black Lipstick Company This Corrosion Swatch

This Corrosion: "The charm of decay can be yours when your lips are the color of purified rust". It applies a little lighter than it appears and it reminds me of a burnt carrot orange. When I saw it in the bag, I didn't think I was going to like the color but I'm actually fond of the orange.

x-default

Portland Black Lipstick Company Undead Red Swatch

Undead Red: "A dark, dark red that wants to be called 'plum' or something". This errs so close to brown but there's a red purpleness to it that makes it more plum colored. It's not a typically pretty color but somehow I'm drawn to it.

Anyway, that's all fourteen lipsticks! Do you like any of the lipsticks and will you be getting any?

Aromaleigh V1 Spells! Eyeshadow Collection Swatches

I have been featuring a lot of discontinued or older eyeshadow collections in my swatch posts and that got me thinking more about my intentions for the blog. I would like to swatch a lot of older eyeshadows to serve as an eyeshadow swatch reference for anyone looking for older swatches. It may be useful if you do want to do comparisons with eyeshadows you already own! With Aromaleigh eyeshadows at least, I know that there are still tons in the hands of others so it's entirely possible to swap and trade for some and I know we always want to look for swatches before we do so.

Anyway, this time around I have swatches of the Aromaleigh Spells! Collection. Only one shade is available at this time on Aromaleigh's site (Imperio) but again, do look for other sources! I think what I like about Aromaleigh eyeshadows is the fact that there's so much sparkle to them. Often times with mineral eyeshadows, there's a lot of shimmer but companies often don't necessarily integrate sparkle or glitter well and I think Aromaleigh eyeshadows did/do a great job at that. When faced with the many indie choices of shimmer eyeshadows (that are often bland and boring and not all that unique), I do want to seek and shop from places that offer something different.

Miscellaneous Linnaeus Cosmetics Eyeshadow Swatches

Judi of Judixo was kind enough to send me some eyeshadow samples, this time from Linnaeus Cosmetics and I'm almost sad she did because I have started wanting more from the brand! After using the Linnaeus eyeshadows, it makes me realize how much I enjoy eyeshadows mixed with carnauba wax. Carnauba wax add such a creaminess to the eyeshadows and I do really like the feel.

This is sort of a case of "Eyeshadows You Can't Have" (stealing the title from the lovely Pink Sith!) because the company is currently on a hiatus. They should be back though by June 2012 so I hope this swatch post entices you to wait patiently for their return!

Pink Blossom Cosmetics Eyeshadow Swatches and Review

A little while ago I was contacted by Lilly, owner of Pink Blossom Cosmetics and she asked me if I wanted to try out a few of the eyeshadows. I'd never heard of her company before so I was quite excited to try the company out and scope around her shop.

I was sent four full jars and a sample clamshell. The full size jars retail for $5.00 for 1-3 grams (my jars said 1.5 grams) and the sample clamshells retail for $1.00 for 1/8 tsp. All the jars and the clamshell were labeled with the name, ingredients and amount in the jars.

I should note that they only ship to the US, Canada, PO Boxes, APO, and US Territories. I do think it is kind of weird that they write no international shipping when Canada is international but maybe in the future the company will accept international orders!

From left to right: Ballet Slipper, Chocolate-tier, Shimmering Sapphire, Sultry Taupe, and White Chocolate

.
.

Just a note, the eyeshadows I got were from her initial batch and she's informed me that the formula has been changed since then and the second formula should be better. Of the five I got, I only thought one could have been improved. The eyeshadows didn't feel powdery but I do think they need a primer to adhere well.

Ballet Slipper: This was a color that I requested to try, purely because of the name. I don't see this on their Storenvy anymore. There is a swatch on it on the Pink Blossom Cosmetics Facebook but I do think it makes it look paler and more matte whereas this felt more like a peachy shimmery pink.

Chocolate-tier: "Shimmery brown with gold flecks" This was one of my favorites and the description is dead on with the color. It was one of the best colors in the set that I got. Applied well and wasn't too powdery or sheer.

Shimmering Sapphire: "A deep shimmery blue color" This was the color that I thought could have been improved. The official swatch picture makes it look like a very shimmery eyeshadow but on me, it applied more like a satin/matte with blue sparkle. It was a little powdery feeling and I'm hoping this has been improved.

Sultry Taupe: "A satin taupe color" This was my other favorite in the set. I even did a close up picture to show the awesome color. There's a slight pink shift that I saw and a gold sparkle to the eyeshadow. I even saw a bit of a green sheen to it too. Applied well too, like Chocolate-tier.

White Chocolate: This is a color that I think was on her Etsy but I don't see it on her Storeenvy. It's a basic shimmery white, not too opaque but not sheer either.

A close up of Sultry Taupe

.

As with all mineral eyeshadows, I do prefer patting the eyeshadow on versus sweeping it on.

Now my thoughts on the company. I would like them to shift away from the 88 palettes, NYX makeup and e.l.f. makeup that they sell on the site. I think that I could get all of this mainstream makeup elsewhere and I like to shop at Indies to get the cosmetics that they make.

A minor detail I noticed was that the stickers on the top of the lid had air bubbles. The tops of the jars are slightly rounded so I can see how it made it so they wouldn't lay flat. It doesn't affect the eyeshadows at all of course, but it's just part of the presentation that I noticed.

.

All in all, I think they're a good brand. I am interested in seeing how the eyeshadows have improved and I would like to see more unique colors. They do have a new collection out, with colors based on birthstones!

Have you tried Pink Blossom Cosmetics?

Disclaimer: I received these products for free for review. All opinions are my own and I wasn't compensated in any way.

An Extraverted Flash EOTD

I've been spending the last of my Spring Break catching up on blogging and playing around with my Silk Naturals eyeshadows (thanks again Cait! She's got swatches of the new Silk Naturals Spring collection here by the way!) I came up with this look using Extravert and Flash, two of my favorites from the set I got from Cait. I am a little sad that Spring Break is ending but I only have about one month and a half before my spring semester ends. Unfortunately I'll have my summer class soon after that but I'll manage it somehow.

These pictures were taken using flash.

.

.

These pictures were taken in daylight. I still have to work out lighting because I think the pictures look really bland compared to the flash pictures hmm.

.

.

Even More Silk Naturals Eyeshadow Swatches

I got sent the most kindest package ever from Cait of Swatch Storm. She was on a destashing spree and sent me jars and jars of Silk Naturals eyeshadows that she no longer used AND I bought a mega lot of samples from her.

She's gotten me hooked on Silk Naturals and I know that was her intent and so she'll feel no guilt for it >(. Here's my picture heavy swatch post of the eyeshadows I got! Sorry for some of the pictures having small amounts of eyeshadows, some of the eyeshadows were samples so I didn't have a lot to take a picture of.

Bon Voyage, Charmed, Chic, and Demure

.
Silk Naturals Bon Voyage, Charmed, Chic, Demure

Bon Voyage: "A deep shimmery navy blue with just a hint of shimmer" I quite liked this shade, I felt like it wasn't too sheer but the shimmer doesn't show up as well in the picture.

Charmed: "A light apple green with fun flecks of gold" This is their clone for MAC Juxt but since I don't own Juxt, I can't compare it. Utterly gorgeous, one of the colors that I'd definitely use for green. The gold flecks are very obvious in real life. This is their clone for MAC Juxt but since I don't own Juxt, I can't compare it.

Chic: "A deeper midtone tan- a smidge on the golden side, and goes wonderfully with Posh, Vogue, and Cream" I liked this brown too, especially with the slight golden sheen to it. I also have Posh and Vogue and I can definitely see them going well together!

Demure: "A light, pinkish lavender shimmery pearl" This was an eyeshadow that was recently discontinued. It was one of the Eye Wands that was an eyeshadow packed into doe foot tubes. I did like the color but I definitely thought it was a bit of a mess to deal with. I can see why it was discontinued.

Flash, Fusion, Grassroots Green, and Juiced

.
Silk Naturals Flash, Fusion, Grassroots Green, Juiced,

Flash: "A very very shimmery complex gold color with a hint of silver and diamond pearl" This was extremely sparkly but there was a lightness in texture to it. I wish I could capture how it feels in words but I can say that it's not creamy the way the other Silk Naturals eyeshadows are, but not in a bad way. Of all the eyeshadows I got, this was one of my favorites and I wish I could convey my thoughts on why I love it. It is semi sheer, not a color you can get totally opaque but that makes it a color you can pat on the center of your lid to add dimension to your eyes.

Fusion: " At its core is a deep plum that when worn over primer becomes a something almost primary- and it pops with golden highlights" It's a dirty brownish plum, a color that I don't gravitate to normally and it stands true in this case. I do like the golden highlight since it prevents the eyeshadow from being one-dimensional.

Grassroots Green: "A deep shimmery green-sort of like the green on the back of a dollar bill". This applied a little sheerer than swatched on the website but there is a fair bit of green shimmer to it.

Juiced: " A pale gold with suede pearl finish, and a fair amount of gold glimmer". The swatch and product picture on the site looks really off on my monitor, making it look gold and yellow when it really isn't. I'd say it's a cream colored beige with gold glimmer. I really like this as an all over lid wash for lazy days. Oddly enough, it's not listed with the rest of the eyeshadows, you have to search for it using the search menu.

Opal, Posh, Resort, and Sapphire

.
Silk Naturals Opal, Posh, Resort, Sapphire,

Opal: " A light pink with just a hint of lavender" This is one of the colors that looks white in the jar but changes over a black liner and I would love to pair this with Sugarpill Love+ as a highlight color!

Posh: "A nice shimmery golden tan color that you could use as a simple one color wash, or pair it with colors like Chic, Cream, and Vogue" This is a clone of Stila Wheat but I don't own Wheat so I can't make a comparison. I can definitely see this going well with Chic and Vogue and would be a brilliant one color wash.

Resort: " Deep golden green shimmer" I don't have an official description for this since it's discontinued. It is a slightly olive-y grass green color.

Sapphire: " A rich jewel toned navy" This is similar to Bon Voyage so I did a comparison further down to show the difference. I've really been into navy blues and I loved the jewel tone to this!

Sizzle: "Starts out blue, and has wonderful gold flecks in it". This photographs extremely mint green on the site but it isn't green at all. It is a slightly dirty looking blue which I'm personally not drawn to but I do like the gold duochrome.

Teacher's Pet: " A medium taupe pearl with hints of golden bronze glimmer". The site swatch is completely off, it's not green at all! Are there colors that you just like even though you can't explain it? This is one of those colors.

Trouble: "A light pinkish sand color" This is a clone of Urban Decay Sin and I compared the two later on in the post. This is a pretty color because it's not such a cool toned pink, there is a warmth to it.

Vogue: " A very deep brown shimmery liner color with glints of copper, and gold" I wish I could properly photograph this color. There's such a richness to the eyeshadow, it's like crushed velvet with tons of shimmer.

GWP Eyeshadows

Blitz, Catch, Extravert, Gobble, Meadow

These are all GWP eyeshadows that you unfortunately can't get anymore, but I thought I'd swatch them just for future reference. Extravert is an especially gorgeous color, it's a dark forest green on a dark base with TONS of shimmer. It's also got that crushed velvet look to it.

Here are the two comparisons I did!

Bon Voyage and Sapphire, these two do look very similar but there are differences. Although it doesn't look it, Bon Voyage has a lighter base than Sapphire but Sapphire has a lighter blue shimmer so it makes it look lighter than Bon Voyage. Since these are so similar, I wouldn't get both. If I had to choose, I'd get Sapphire.

Silk Naturals Bon Voyage vs Silk Naturals Sapphire

This is Trouble against Urban Decay Sin. Sin is much shinier/metallic than Trouble so it looks lighter than Trouble.

Thank you Cait, I really didn't need to be hooked onto another eyeshadow company :(

Disclaimer: I was given these eyeshadows by the lovely Cait of Swatch Storm. I didn't get paid to swatch these eyeshadows and all opinions are my own.
