BK Brushes Review

Hi everyone!

Today I wanted to do a review/ranking of my BK Beauty (affiliate) brushes, especially since they’re having an anniversary sale through August 10, 2025. I have managed to amass six different brushes and wanted to share my thoughts on each one and help guide any decisions you might make.

In the past I have preferred natural hair brushes since most of my collection consisted of powder makeup with only a few cream and liquid products. Over the years I have added more and more cream products, especially check products, which have necessitated good synthetic brushes. I was skeptical of shelling out money for synthetic bristle brushes but BK Beauty is one of the exceptions. I am much more willing to invest in their brushes because of their innovative shapes, brush density, and quality of the bristles and it was hard to overlook the immense number of positive reviews for their 101 and 109 brushes in particular. Like I am not that willing to pay high prices for a shape I could get from Real Techniques or Morphe you know?

I will review each one and rank them from 6th to 1st. Full disclosure, I purchased about several myself, won one in a giveaway, and the rest were given as a gift by my husband (who got a great deal when they were 50% off via GMADeals).

In 6th place, the Nikki La Rose N17 Multi-Pro Face

BK Beauty N17

The N17 ($38.00) is one of their most popular brushes and is a collaboration with Nikki La Rose. It’s a dual sided brush where one side is meant to be used with cream products and the other powder. The reason I’m putting it at 7th is because it doesn’t quite fit with how I like to apply my makeup and I feel like I’m not able to utilize the dual sided nature to its full benefit. It’s not a knock on the quality at all I think it’s just down to preference. I don’t really like flat paddle style foundation brushes and this brush is just a puffed up version of a paddle brush. I know this is promoted as a brush that you can do your entire makeup look with which I think it does work. It works great as a travel brush where space might be an issue or if you don’t want to carry too many brushes and want something that’s an all in one but I don’t really travel. So not a bad brush but just doesn’t suit me.

In 5th place, the 112 Small Angled Face brush (affiliate)

BK Beauty 112 brush

I know the 112 ($28.00) is one of Lisa’s (the founder of BK Beauty) favorite brushes for liquid and cream cheek products but I feel like it’s not dense enough and is too floppy to blend with precision despite the smaller brush head. I also feel like the bristles aren’t quite as soft as my other brushes and so it's not my favorite to use. I recently have been applying liquid highlighter with it to get some purpose out of it.

In 4th place, the 107 Flat Blush brush (affiliate).

BK 107

The 107 ($32.00) is an excellent, well constructed  brush that can be used with powder blush and bronzer. The bristles pick up product well and do a great job at transferring and blending product out. The shape isn't too large to blend and diffuse product out. I use this frequently and the only reason it’s 4th is for the slightly generic shape while the top three are more innovative.

In 3rd place, the Angie Hot and Flashy A506 Concealer brush

BK A507

The A506 ($24.00) is a collaboration with Angie who goes by Angie Hot and Flashy. I’ll admit I was skeptical about how much use I would get out of this brush because I don’t wear that much concealer. Sometimes I think the look of dark circles peeking through looks and lays better on the skin than full coverage concealer which can look cakey and contrast too much against less coverage on the rest of the face. But I have liked this for applying my eye brightener (been favoring the Half Caked eye brightener)(affiliate) and blending out foundation precisely in areas I want a little extra coverage. This brush has the infamous kitten paw shape and the soft angle of the bristles sits and applies product so well on the skin. It’s incredibly plush and an excellent sensory experience (if that’s something you look for!).

In 2nd place, the 101 Contoured Foundation brush

BK 101

With the 101 ($34.00), I went back and forth on whether to have this or my 1st place brush in 2nd place but I own three of the 1st place brushes and only one of the 101 so I figured I should place it at 2nd. If I am not using my Chinese cushion puff to apply foundation, I am often using the 101. This brush, dare I say it, is unique in the makeup brush world. It is not a typical dense round brush. If you look down at the profile of it, it is like a rounded triangle and looking at the side you can see that soft angle. The density of the bristles means it both spreads and blends liquid foundation in a flash. One pass and you’re nearly done. It’s an incredibly efficient brush with a lot of softness. It’s a real luxury and pleasure to use. Though mainly a foundation brush I think it works excellently for skin tints and also any bronzing/highlighting products like the Saie Glowy Super Gel.

In 1st place, the 109 Mini Contoured Foundation brush

BK 109

The 109 ($32.00) is in first place because it’s an incredible multitasking brush. You can use this to apply cream or liquid foundations/skin tints, blushes, bronzers, and highlighters. It’s small enough for precision work while also large enough that it’s not too much effort to apply product all over the face. I call this the weighted blanket of makeup brushes because I feel like the soft angled bristles give a very specific sensory experience. The rounded angle allows the bristles to pass with even weight onto your skin but not with too much pressure like a flat top brush might and a rounded brush might have some bristles that don’t touch as you use it giving a sensation of floppiness. It’s a brush shape that I have found others have tried to imitate but are unable to with perfect accuracy (though they have gotten close!). A multitasking do it all kind of makeup brush. If I could only get one BK Beauty brush, it would be this one.

Now I am posting this while the anniversary sale is going on and the brushes are 20-35% off but the website isn’t the only place to get the brushes. They do sell on TikTok shop with a lower free shipping threshold than their website and you can sometimes catch a good deal. The best deal is whenever they go on GMADeals, the website associated with Good Morning America. It’s how I have amassed so many brushes but they are infrequently available there and only when there is a segment. It’s not the most consistent way of acquiring the brushes but it is the best deal I have found.

I hope this ranking helped guide any decisions!
