Venomous Cosmetics 2013 Collection Eyeshadow Swatches

Oops, this post is really really belated! These are the four loose eyeshadows and one pressed eyeshadow from the 2013 Collection. I've already reviewed the Lip Poisons from the collection so feel free to check it out here! This collection is limited edition and will be available until February 18th so you still have a few days to get it (This is under the Last Chance section!)

Where to purchase: Venomous Cosmetics
  • For the loose eyeshadows: Samples are 1/4 tsp for $1.00 and full size is a 5 gram jar for $6.50.
  • For the pressed eyeshadows: Samples are supposed to be about 1/2 tsp of eyeshadow in a 15mm pan for $2.00 and full size is a 26mm pan with about 1 tsp of eyeshadow for $6.50
Cruelty Free? They are cruelty-free.
  • For the loose eyeshadows: Samples are packaged in a plastic ziploc bag and full sizes are packaged in a 5 gram jar with a sifter.
  • For the pressed eyeshadows: These are sold by the pan and are shipped in a plastic ziploc bag wrapped in bubblewrap

As always, these were swatched dry over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and pictures were taken in natural daylight.

Venomous Cosmetics 2013 Collection Eyeshadows Collage

Crowded Streets: "Pinky mauve with aqua sparks"

Night of Lights: " Dark purple with pink sparkle" This is very very dark, almost black but there's a slight hint of purple.

Stand Out: "Silver with golden sheen" The color is a little sheerer but I think would make a great color for the inner corner or to blend colors out.

The City: "Deep blue with purple sheen" My favorite of the collection. I didn't see the purple sheen as much but it was really packed with blue sparkles.

Pressed Eyeshadow:

NYE: "Bright pink that leans magenta with lots of red and pink sparkle" This is a beautiful color but the texture was disappointing. It's quite hard in the pan so you need to really scrape at the surface to get enough onto your brush and although pretty, it was difficult to work with.

I really liked The City and Stand Out but was disappointed in NYE.

Disclaimer: I was sent samples of the loose eyeshadow and pressed eyeshadow to swatch and review. I was not compensated for this review and none of the links in the post are affiliate links.

For all you couples, I hope you enjoy your Valentine's Day with your significant others! The boyfriend and I are super duper busy today with school but luckily I was able to see him for a little bit in the morning and we celebrated with homemade sushi on Tuesday (I'm not big into flowers or chocolate!). For all you single people, enjoy your Thursday!

  1. Night of Lights is incredibly beautiful :) I love it!

  2. I purchased The City. I'm glad I did as it looks gorgeous in your close up swatch. I'm looking forward to trying it.

  3. Hello, it isn't cruelty-free because the shades could be have carmine in them. Feel sorry for these beautiful colors :(

    1. Hi Lala, I've always interpreted cruelty free to be related to animal testing. The products may have carmine but they aren't tested on animals. I can modify my statement in the future to denote both.

  4. Hi Mai, I didn't think like that, but now, I understand ;)
But it will be great if you can note both if you can.

    Thanks a lot !
