Hey everyone!

Today I have a review on the Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss in Dirty Chai. Though I'm not a coffee person, I can still appreciate the theme and fresh look behind the glosses. I saw swatches of the glosses online and really wanted to get Dirty Chai. I ended up getting it for my birthday and wanted to share my thoughts on the limited edition gloss before it went away.

Packaging: The lipgloss comes in a clear tube with a grey cap and doefoot applicator. The lip gloss makes an absolutely satisfying click when closing and it's attention to details like that that make products worth the price tag.

Review:

Bite Beauty says: "Fuel up your lip look: This caffeinated collection of lip glosses creates a buzz with coffee-colored creamy shine. Powered by rich, hydrating coffee butters and Arabica cold press coffee oil, each comfortable, cushiony gloss glides on with an addictive, sweet mocha flavor"

The lip gloss is incredibly hydrating and shiny on the lips. Cushiony is a good descriptor to use because it's thick enough to spread and coat your lips so your lips feel comfortable and moisturized while you're wearing it. Because it's still a gloss, it'll wear off on surfaces but you'll still get a three to four hours of good wear without any bleeding into the lip lines. Did I mention it's hydrating? Easily one of the most hydrating glosses I've worn and it's what helps it stand out from other glosses.

The scent isn't the best, less sweet mocha and more like Glade's version of what mocha smells like. I kind of wish it smelled like fresh coffee beans but I've always been someone who loved the smell of fresh coffee over the actual taste. Thankfully it isn't super strong so it doesn't linger and the lipgloss itself actually tastes only a little sweet.

Swatch:

Bite Beauty French Press Lip Gloss in Dirty Chai Swatch

Dirty Chai is described as a "terra-cotta rose". There's a fine micro pearl in the formula which adds some depth to the color but doesn't actually add shimmer to your lips. I liked this shade because it has enough pigment so it doesn't settle into the lines of my lips.

Conclusion:

I'm honestly a little sad that the collection is limited edition because I really enjoyed the lip gloss (thought I could take or leave the scent) and how hydrated my lips felt while wearing it and after wearing it. I do hope Bite decides to make it permanent or come out with more glosses since the other glosses they have are shimmery vs. creamy.

Have you been liking lip glosses lately? Any favorites I should try?

  1. The shade is really pretty but I agree, don't know how I would feel about the fake mocha scent. I may still grab one before they are gone though, perfect natural shade!

  8. The colour is gorgeous although the flavor/scent description confuses me. I would rather a chai tea type of flavor rather than a completely unrelated mocha. I'm on the fence with this one...

  9. Belated Happy Birthday! I love that gloss on you - it's the perfect everyday shade. The scent sounds off-putting, though.
