Swatch & Review: Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Beige Naturel - For the Everyday Skin Look

Hey everyone!

Today I have a review of the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Beige Naturel. I've been looking for something lightweight to wear, that manages my oily skin, while also providing a bit of coverage. I typically wear the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation but I wanted something that wasn't as heavy. I got the Matte Moisture Tint at Generation Beauty and wanted to test out if it lived up to my needs.

Check out the review below!
This shade is described as for "medium complexions with yellow undertones". Jouer only recently added this shade to the line so I'm glad that it's a great color match for me. However, there are only seven shades total so it is a little limited if you have a tan to deep skin tone.

Where to Purchase: Jouer, Nordstrom
Price: $40.00 for 50 mL/1.7 fl oz
Do they test on animals?: The company does not test on animals.
Packaging: The matte moisture tint comes in a squeeze tube.

Formula:

Jouer says:

"this lightweight mattifying moisture tint evens out imperfections and leaves your skin with a velvety smooth finish with its Multi-Mineral Complex. SPF 15 protects from UVA & UVB rays while Vitamins C & E deliver rich antioxidants to the skin. Medium coverage."

The Matte Moisture Tint has a mousse-y creamy consistency that gives light to medium coverage. I know you might think tinted moisturizer based off the name but it's more of a light foundation. I prefer applying this with my fingers, though you can certainly use a brush. The finish is like a soft matte and it feels quite weightless on my skin. This has become my go-to foundation for everyday.

Without primer/powder, I can get about 5 hours of wear. In conjunction with primer and powder, it can last 8+ hours on me. I do have oily skin so while I do get some shine throughout the day, the Matte Moisture Tint itself doesn't break down, oxidize, or pool into my pores.

If the usual tinted moisturizer isn't enough for you but you're over full coverage foundation, I highly suggest giving the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint a try. I don't think it's super moisturizing (especially given its matte finish), so this is better for normal, combination, or oily skin types.

Swatch/Before & After:

Here's a before and after so you can see how the matte moisture tint looks on my face. The left photo is my bare face while the right photo is my face with the matte moisture tint.  I applied the foundation with my fingers and took the photo in indirect natural daylight. One layer gives light coverage but I can build this to medium coverage to better cover my hyper pigmentation. For most days, I just go with one layer.

Conclusion:

I'm super pleased with the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint. I know it's being marketed as a matte tinted moisturizer, but it's just a good light foundation. The longevity is great for me (with the help of my go to primer) and even without it wears very evenly. If you can find a good shade match and need a light to medium coverage foundation that takes no time to apply and gives you a soft matte finish, you will enjoy this. I hope they continue to add more shades to the range because it's limited at seven.

What's your current foundation if you're wearing any? Do you change foundations with the seasons?

I love Jouer products, and I always forget that it's sold at Nordstrom. But for foundation, I like something more toward full coverage. My faves are Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF15, NARS Luminous Weightless All Day Foundation & PUR Water Serum Foundation

  3. I love how it evened out your skintone. I have a bunch of pigmentation marks right now and need full coverage but this would be great to try after they disappear.

I haven't tried this product, but I've tried other Jouer products and really liked them. I prefer light cover this time of year - so this might be great for me!

  9. Oh man I wish I liked the NARS Luminous Weightless and Pur Water Serum Foundations more. I think having oilier skin made it difficult for my skin to mesh with the two as well as I wanted it to

  10. I always like light foundations, but I usually switch to powder in the summer. This one gave you some nice coverage.

  12. I have this and love it to death! I sometimes will mix it with a full coverage Tarte foundation for a little more coverage.
