Aqua and Green with a Pop of Blue Liner FOTD

I have to say that coming up with names for the looks I do is probably the hardest part about the whole posting process. I do like incorporating the names of the colors I use in the title but at the same time, I don't have enough creativity to come up with multiple combinations. If you guys post looks, how do you name them?

Anyway, this was one of the first looks I did with the Heartbreaker Palette but it got lost in my sea of pictures and I only just rediscovered the set now. I especially love Velocity as a liner color, it contrasts so well with Mochi on the lid!

I'm sure everyone's heard about it now but Urban Decay has decided to NOT sell in China meaning their products won't have the possibility of being tested there. I'm glad they changed their mind, but I don't particularly like how they are making it seem like it's because they wanted to stick to their principles. This was certainly fueled by money and if they really wanted to stick to their principles, they wouldn't have entertained the thought in the first place. What are your thoughts on Urban Decay's change of stance?

Fourth of July Inspired EOTD

I wanted to do a look for the Fourth of July so I did one using red, white, and blue and since I've been wanting to experiment with doing colored brows, I had to have a go at it. Sugarpill's Velocity and @#$%! were the perfect colors for the look and I'm so so happy I got the Heartbreaker palette.

I had the red and blue covered so I added in the tinest bit of white on the red liner to complete the colors

How was your guys' Fourth of July (if you celebrated it?) I went to a friend's place and we had an awesome BBQ and set off fireworks. Fireworks used to be illegal here but this year they decided to make them legal (probably to collect the tax revenue from the sales!)

Breaking my Heart FOTD

I'm trying to make an effort to post more FOTDs than EOTDs if only to show off more of my face makeup stash and bring a little more variety to the blog. I know I've been inundating you guys with recap and haul posts from IMATS so to utilize something I got from there, I did a FOTD using the Sugarpill Heartbreaker Palette and Eyelashes.

I'm looking pretty dang serious in this picture, it's a half hearted attempt to do Blue Steel. I got a sample of Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and it was my first time using it. I was a little skeptical of any foundation proclaiming luminous anything (especially on my oily skin) and rightfully so, it is a little too dewy for me. I set it with powder though and I like it much better. The guy at the Armani counter visually matched me spot on and I have to say I'm a little impressed about that.

and some close ups of my eyes. I used the Sugarpill lashes in Sinnocent and I really like the look of them. They have a stiffer, less flexible band and that's actually my preference for lashes since I think lashes with the thinner or clear bands are way too fiddly for me to use.

Of the four colors in the Heartbreaker palette, I have to say that Mochi (the aqua in the outer third) is my favorite, it's such a summery color.

IMATS LA 2012 Day 2 Recap

I know I know, you might be tired of all the IMATS related post but this is the last one covering it, I promise!

(Just a warning, some of the Special Effects makeup and Body Painting in this post may be considered NSFW)

After staying overnight at IMATS (thanks to the lovely Alyson of Gloss Menagerie for letting me crash in her hotel room), I was all geared up in the morning for Day 2. Of course I completely forgot to charge my camera battery the night before so I was fairly low on Day 2 which meant I had to save my battery for the cool stuff. Near the end of the day I saw tons of Special Effects makeup and Body Painting and managed to use my iPhone to take pictures.

To start off the post, here's a picture of me with Josh/Misty Maven. I met so many people and took lots of pictures with them but I didn't want to have to make you scroll through them all so if you want to see them, feel free to check out the photo album on my Facebook Page.

I went walking with Heather by the Shany Cosmetics booth when we noticed this palette and brush on the wall. It turns out there were actual eyeshadows in the display and they were huge! Heather's hand in the picture can give you an idea of the size of the pans and brush.


I didn't scope out many booths but I did want to stop by Z-Palette. Before IMATS, I saw a preview of their new palette that was supposed to be deep enough to hold baked powders. I know that people do like depotting their baked powders but finding a place to hold them is especially difficult so I'm glad to see that they came out with a solution.

Vanitymark was a booth we stumbled upon near the end of the show. I didn't recognize the booth until I saw some Dr. KISS lip balms on display and realized that I had heard the brand before! If you're a reader of Temptalia, you may recognize Vanitymark (and its owner Brett Freedman) by the mini series "The Making of Dr. KISS Gloss" that has been posted on her site.

Brett was super nice and it was fun hanging out at their booth. By the way, any redheads looking for brow pencils should check out their Gingerella pencil. It was damn near smudgeproof when swatched.

The rest of this post is going to be showing off the amazing special effects and body painting I saw at the show. I think they really saved the best for the last day, almost everywhere I went there was something I wanted to take a picture of.

This girl was so adorable, I loved that she has makeup on her eyes so it looks like she's got such wide eyes.

I had such a great time at IMATS and I really can't wait to go to the next one in January.
