New Release: Sugarpill Pro Palette, Pro Pans, and Discontinued Palettes

Affiliate Links

Hey everyone!

Sugarpill is finally launching their long awaited Pro Palette and Pro Pans today at 12PM PST or 9AM EST. The Pro Palette is a refillable eyeshadow palette and the Pro Pans are single pans of their Eyeshadows. If you're someone who wants to be able to carry tons of Sugarpill around, the palette will be perfect for you! Previously, their Pro Palette was only available in limited quantities at trade shows but they're launching it so everyone can get their hands on it.

The pricing information is as follows:

The Pro Pans are $10 each, except for the foiled shade Money Maker, which will be $13.
The Empty Pro Palette is $20.
If you buy 6 Pro Pans, the Pro Palette is $10.
If you buy 12 Pro Pans, the Pro Palette is free!

The most bang for your buck will be if you purchase 12 Pro Pans to get the free palette. The total for that comes to $120. Buying the Pro Pans save you $3 and lets you put them in any magnetic palette. If you already have your own magnetic palette, no need to get the Sugarpill Pro Palette. You can also mix and match however many shades you like. If you think you'll run through more of Heart Shaped Cookie or Tako, you can purchase multiples!

Also keep in mind that they are discontinuing the Cold Chemistry and Sparkle Baby Palettes, however you will still be able to purchase the eyeshadows as singles.

Shipping is $6 or free for purchases over $100 if you're in the US and scaled shipping prices if you're purchasing from overseas.

I personally don't need the Pro Palette but I do want to get Money Maker and Heart Shaped Cookie (the most neutral that I've ever seen Sugarpill get!).

Do you plan on getting anything from Sugarpill?

Sugarpill Cosmetics New Release: Nine New Chromalusts & a Limited Edition Chromalust!

Affiliate Links

When Sugarpill comes out with a new release, they really go all out! I'm glad that they've been coming out with so much recently, it's been rough waiting in between releases. This new release includes nine new Chromalusts, some of which are colors to replace some recently discontinued colors, and a limited edition Chromalust. The new colors are releasing at 2pm today!

Just a note, the Chromalusts have gone up from $12.00 to $13.00 or $14. All of them except Goldilux and Grand Tiara are $13.00 and Goldilux and Grand Tiara is $14.00 (not sure why).

The new colors are: Charmy, Clickbait, Countess, Grand Tiara, Holy Ghost, Hug Life, Mint Soda, Penelope, and Strangeling. The limited edition color is Pastelle.

Grand Tiara appears to be a replacement for Tiara and Strangling appears to be a replacement to Hysteric. Holy Ghost does appear close to Starling and Clickbait seems like a lighter version of Junebug. The rest of the colors seem like new shades to the line!

Here are some swatches of the new nine Chromalusts!

The long awaited Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Collection is finally available online! It's a collection of four eyeshadow colors: Kitten Parade, Candycrush, Frostine, and Hotsy Totsy. FYI, Hotsy Totsy is NOT vegan. Unfortunately Sugarpill has yet to come out with an entirely vegan palette so here's hoping that the next palette will be vegan!

Sugarpill Cosmetics LE Smitten Chromalust Sweepstakes!

So I just hit 1,000,000 views on the blog yesterday and I'm super duper excited about it. To honor the occasion, I've decided to give away a Limited Edition Sugarpill Cosmetics Smitten Chromalust I picked up while I was at IMATS LA. I didn't get one for myself, just one for you guys so I hope you enter for a chance to win!

sugarpill smitten-1 edited

It's a short giveaway, only until next Wednesday (the 12th) because I wanted to time it so if you didn't win, you'll know before their Birthday Sale. (which should be happening around the 14th!) They mentioned at IMATS that they were selling some of the Smitten Chromalusts in February so I'm assuming they mean during their February sale. This is vegan by the way!

I don't have a swatch of it (because I can't exactly swatch out of the jar that I'm giving away but I do have this swatch from Amy (owner of Sugarpill)

Open to the US only guys, sorry about that but I'll have international giveaways in the future!

Swatch and Review: Sugarpill Cosmetics Limited Edition Asteria Chromalust

Good News Everyone! If you missed out on Sugarpill Cosmetics' Limited Edition Asteria Chromalust, have no fear since it will be offered on their online store this week or next (not sure yet) but there is a limited supply! It's a gorgeous color, a metallic coppery-orange filled with a gold sparkle. When applied sheerly, the orange tones come out due to the gold sparkle and when applied heavily, the color is more true to jar. When it is available on the website, I will be sure to post about it here and on my social media pages (links to those in my sidebar).

Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust

As a preview for the sale, I took closeup pictures and also a swatch of the eyeshadow. Oh and it's also a vegan shade!

Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust

I've had some difficulty capturing the gold sparkle in Asteria in a swatch so in addition to a swatch, have a gander at the eye look I did using Asteria (applied over Darling Girl Primped and Primed. The picture was taken in natural daylight with no flash. Hopefully you can see that around the edges of the eyeshadow (where it was applied sheerer, the orange-y color is more prominent due to the gold sparkle.).

and a regular eyeshadow swatch. Asteria was swatched dry over Milani Eyeshadow Primer and the pictures were taken in natural daylight. The picture on the right is of Asteria at an angle to show off the golden sparkle.

Sugarpill Asteria Chromalust

Asteria is gorg and I'm so glad they're giving customers the opportunity to purchase the limited edition color. I personally think it's worth it and the white packaging is so nice, I think I like it better than their regular black cap packaging!

Are you going to try to pick it up?

Swatch Comparison: Sugarpill Kitten Parade vs Sleek Original Palette Eyeshadow

I Purchased This

Sakuradesu asked me if I could compare Sugarpill's Kitten Parade to an eyeshadow in the Sleek Original palette (I thought the colors were named but I think in the Original palette they're not!). For reference, it's the color that's second to the left in the bottom row. There's apparently a color similar to Kitten Parade in the Lagoon palette too but since I don't own that palette, I'm not able to compare it.

Anyway, here's the comparison! The Sleek Color is on the left and Kitten Parade is on the right. The eyeshadows were swatched dry over Milani Eyeshadow Primer and the pictures taken in natural daylight.

Hopefully you can see that the Sleek Color has a pale pink, almost lavender tinged base whereas Kitten Parade as a rosy-peachy base. Both have a gold gilt but the base colors are quite different.

Anyway, I hope this comparison was helpful to you!

Swatch & Review: Sugarpill Cosmetics Kitten Parade Eyeshadow

I Purchased This

Hey everyone, I've still got to finish up my recap post on PHAMExpo but I couldn't wait to put up this post on one of the new Sparkle Baby Eyeshadows from Sugarpill Cosmetics. Sparkle Baby is a collection of four sugary-sweet looking eyeshadows, debuting around the end of August (I asked). The collection won't be available for another month but I thought it'd be worth swatching and showing my favorite color from the collection, Kitten Parade.

Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Kitten Parade

Where to purchase: Sugarpill Cosmetics (in August!)
Price: $12.00 for 3.5 grams of product
Do they test on animals? They do not test on animals.
Packaging:

I want to talk about how adorably cute the packaging is for the collection. One of the reasons why I like Sugarpill so much is because they put so much effort into branding their lines where I get so much enjoyment out of the packaging and not just the product. The Sparkle Baby collection features a pastel blue and pink theme with a sweet heterochromatic eyed white kitten on the back.

Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Packaging

There's also a nice change to the eyeshadow compacts because they're white instead of black like in the main collection eyeshadows.

Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Kitten Parade

The content inside doesn't disappoint either. Kitten Parade is a rosy-peachy pink with a brilliant gold gilt and sparkle. Compared to the rest of Sugarpill's main collection eyeshadows, it is as close as they'll get to a neutral eyeshadow. By the way, this eyeshadow is NOT vegan because there is carmine in the formula.

Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Kitten Parade

Swatch: (Swatched over Milani Eyeshadow Primer and the pictures were taken in natural daylight with no flash)

Depending on how you apply it and the angle that the light hits it, it'll look slightly different. If you swipe it on, you'll find that the gold gilt tends to be more prominent than the rosy base whereas if you pat it on, you'll get more of the pink out of the eyeshadow. I'd say it'd fairly pigmented but can be applied sheerly as an all over wash. The gold sparkle in the eyeshadow is prone to fallout so I would recommend a sticky primer with this eyeshadow. When the light hits it the right way, you'll get a beautiful flash of gold like in the picture on the right.

Sugarpill Kitten Parade Eyeshadow

Would I recommend?

YES. You need to get this. Honestly I think it's worth getting just because of the name but the color itself is beautiful. Seriously, it'll be worth waiting until August for! There is some fallout you will have to deal with because of the gold sparkle but wearing a sticky primer or a sticky base should help with the issue; it's not enough of a problem that should deter you from purchasing the color!

Teal Glitter EOTD featuring Lit Cosmetics + Blog Housekeeping

Hello!

I feel like I used to do a lot of Face of the Day and Eye of the Day posts but I haven't been doing much lately because I've been feeling a little creatively stagnant. There is a part of me that can't help but compare what I do to other looks I've been seeing and mine look rather drab in comparison. I think it is all too easy to get into the mindset of trying to strive to be the most creative however I'm much more comfortable doing more simpler looks like this, I certainly don't have the artistic skill to do anything complex.

I had some credit to the Beautylish Shop so I used that to purchase some Lit Cosmetics glitters (three glitters plus the Lit Kit for only $8.00 including shipping, I am the master of scrounging up and using credit). I picked Cayman specifically because I wanted to recreate this look by Queen of Blending. Hers is infinitely more superior but I wanted to try my hand at it anyway.

I hope you enjoy the look!

(I received the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo that I used in the look free courtesy of The Makeup Show LA as part of a giftbag)

Teal Glitter Eye with Lit Cosmetics Cayman

Cayman is a beautiful turquoise color, a little more green than it appears in the photo. I applied this on top of Sugarpill's Darling Chromalust and it made for a dynamic duo.

Products used:

Milani Cosmetics Eyeshadow Primer
Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow in Zero applied lightly in the crease
Wet n Wild Brown eyeshadow from the I Heart Matte Eyeshadow blending out from the crease
Wet n Wild Brulee on the browbone
Darling Girl Glitter Glue on the lid
Sugarpill Chromalust in Darling on the lid
Lit Cosmetics Glitter in Cayman (Size 2) over Darling applied with the Lit Cosmetics Clearly Liquid Glitter Base
NYX Gel Liner & Smudger in Betty for the liner
Miss Adoro Eyelashes in #423
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown (it doesn't appear this light and red in person!)

I hope you have a nice Friday! I'm supposed to find out my grad school admissions result today from my first choice school so here's hoping all goes well!

Electric Royal Blue Liner EOTD

Hey everyone,

here's a look using two of the products I got at IMATS, I didn't want to wait to show off the look until after I posted my haul post. This was using Makeup Geek's Electric Gel Liner (a creme royal blue) and Sugarpill Saint Eyelashes. I have basically been waiting a year to get my hands on these Saint eyelashes from Sugarpill; I was being a cheapass about paying shipping for the eyelashes when they were first released last January and then they were sold out before IMATS LA in June but I made sure to get my hands on them at this IMATS LA. These were worth waiting for; I love the fluttery look to my eyelashes. Oddly enough though I feel like these only look good on me when I have winged eyeliner, go figure.

Sugarpill Electric Royal Blue

The camera seemed to swallow up all the sparkles in the look so trust me when I say that it was amazingly sparkly. I applied Electric gel liner for the shape then topped it with Sugarpill Royal Sugar.

I've got my grad school interview tomorrow morning then I'm going straight to ISSE Long Beach. Honestly I find myself a little overwhelmed when I look at the exhibitor list for the show, it's the biggest convention I think I've ever been to (feel free to follow me on Instagram @ohmeohmai to see my exploits! After that, I gotta start studying for my classes (one of my classes is having a multi-chapter test every week for five consecutive so that's SO fun). Do you have any plans for the weekend?

Top 12 Eyeshadows of 2012

To continue my compilation to sum up the end of the year, I wanted to talk about my twelve favorite eyeshadows of 2012. I was much more into eyeshadows than lip colors this year so that's why I was able to come up with a top 12. Like with the lipsticks, these are all equally my favorite and aren't in any particular order. Pretty much all of them are loose eyeshadows; I found I didn't really favor as many pressed eyeshadows this year but that might change (especially since I was introduced to the Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadows. Unfortunately a few of the eyeshadows aren't available anymore but you can still enjoy the look of them.

All the eyeshadows were swatched dry over primer and pictures were taken in natural daylight. All the links take you to my previous reviews on them!
top 12 eyeshadows of 2012

Aromaleigh Alohomora: "Gilded bronzy copper with matching sparkle" Unfortunately this isn't available anymore, it was an eyeshadow I got from Aromaleigh when they were clearing out their old stock. It just reminds me of antiques and watching Antique Roadshow which is why I love it.

Aromaleigh Tunnel Vision: "Deep silver based taupe" More silver than taupe really, it's another one of those eyeshadows that was clearanced from Aromaleigh. I'm always seeking a silvery taupe and this is almost the perfect one for me.

Darling Girl Jeweled Taupe: "Metallic bronzy taupe with multi-colored shimmer" Ever since Jeweled Taupe was released, it's pretty much been one of the top sellers for the brand and it's not difficult to see why. I love the purple and red glitter shining through the bronze base. Love it!

Darling Girl Persuasion: "Medium lavender base with gold shift and turquoise sparkles" Persuasion is a color that works best when applied with a glitter fixative but it's worth it. The  green shift shining through the lavender base is a unique but gorgeous combination.

top 12 eyeshadows of 2012

Fyrinnae Newcastle: "Sparkly deep antique bronze-gold" The brown base with the gold sparkles to it, a perfect color for a smokey eye.

Fyrinnae Sacred: "Not gold, a light gleaming truly metallic taupe." I remember I couldn't find the shade on the Fyrinnae site anymore and

L'oreal Blinged and Brilliant: Metallic high shine peach toned beige nude"

MAC Coco: "Neutral taupe with frost" You ever have one of those colors that you love almost as much because of the hype and the fact that you can't get a hold of it otherwise? This is one of those colors.

top 12 eyeshadows of 2012

MAC Goldenaire: "Rosy with a gold pearl" See above re: MAC Coco

Silk Naturals Flash: "Shimmery complex gold color with a hint of silver and diamond pearl" I know just looking at it, especially compared to the other shades it seems a little out of place. Something about it though, the mother of pearl-esque color just appeals to me.

Sugarpill Goldilux*: "Brilliant, highly-reflective metallic gold with breathtaking shine" Goooooold. Gooooooold I can't handle this it's shiny and reflective and metallic gold all in my face.

Venomous Versicolor: "Maroon with green sheen" I know, I only just reviewed it a week ago so it almost seems like a premature addition to my favorites but I do love the maroon base with the green sheen peeking through.

Disclaimer: I purchased all these eyeshadows. All opinions are my own. The link marked with an asterisk contains an affiliate link which gives me a commission based off your use of the link and helps support the blog! Feel free to use a non-affiliate link.

*****************************

Can you guys tell me what your top eyeshadows of 2012 have been?

Dupe Alert for Sugarpill @#$%! Eyeshadow

I'm usually hesitant to provide dupes for indie eyeshadows because for some reason I feel like it goes against indie solidarity. I especially look down on dupes that have been advertised as intentional dupes of a fellow indie product (which this isn't by the way). For example, as much as I'd love a Lynnderella polish, I'm not really willing to purchase one of the numerous indie nail polish dupes out there.

I'm making an exception for this because @#$%! is a Limited Edition shade and not something that everyone can get their hands on readily at this time by itself. Phyrra reminded me that you can get it on Beautylish as a set with the Heartbreaker palette but since you can't get it by itself, it is a limiting for someone who may also already own the Heartbreaker palette (like I do). The dupe I found is close, not 100% spot-on but enough to maybe tide you over

I swatched both dry over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and the pictures were taken in natural daylight.

One of these eyeshadows is @#$%! by Sugarpill and the other is Red Ryder by Darling Girl Cosmetics. Can you tell the difference? Which do you think is which?

Dupe alert for @#$%!

Red Ryder is on the left and @#$%! is on the right. The differences are quite subtle but Red Ryder has more silver sparkles, is a little lighter, less bright and berry than @#$%!, and a loose eyeshadow versus pressed. If you crave @#$%! and want to find something close that is readily available, then you may like Red Ryder. You just have to wait the turn around time. I love both equally by the way, I mean you guys know how much of a fan I am of both companies!

You can get Red Ryder at Darling Girl Cosmetics (starting January 7th when they reopen) which is part of the A Darling Girl Christmas Story collection and unfortunately @#$%! is a Limited Edition shade and currently only available when you purchase it with the Heartbreaker Palette on Beautylish. Red Ryder is $2.50 for 1/4 tsp and $5.90 for 3/4 tsp. @#$%! previously was available for $12.00 for four grams but you can get it with the Heartbreaker Palette on Beautylish, both for only $34.00 until supplies last.

What do you think? Is Red Ryder enough to tamp down your desire for @#$%! or temporarily wane it?

A Darling Girl Christmas Story & More Eyeshadow Swatches, Comparison, and Review

Christmas may technically be over, but that doesn't mean you can't still indulge in some holiday products. Today I have three eyeshadows from Darling Girl's A Darling Girl Christmas Story collection (themed after A Christmas Story of course) plus three other colors to swatch and review.

Where to purchase: Darling Girl Cosmetics. They are closed until January 7th however as the owner Susan is going on a much needed family vacation!

Price: $2.50 for a petit jar with 1/4 tsp and $5.90 for a full size with 3/4 tsp

Cruelty Free? They are cruelty free as they do not test on animals.

Packaging: The petit jars are 3 gram jars with a sifter and the full size jars are 5 gram jars with a sifter.

Onto the swatches! These were swatched dry over Too Faced Shadow Insurance and pictures were taken under natural daylight with no flash.

A Darling Girl Christmas Story Eyeshadows

Aridoarikato: "Nude beige with a pink sheen" This was the included GWP color. It's similar to my skintone and not too shimmery so it'll work as a browbone highlight color.

Red Ryder: "Bold red pearl with silver shimmers." Whoa boy this is amazing. It's a bright in your face red with a hint of berry with tons of silver sparkle.

Tapestry of Obscenities: "Intense beige-y bronze with an explosion of multi-colored color shifting glitter! This is Jeweled Taupe's sophisticated older sister." This is a light cocoa brown with multi colored glitter (that didn't show up well in the pictures). When applied over  I love Jeweled Taupe so I was really interested in trying this out. I also did a comparison below between Jeweled Taupe and Tapestry of Obscenities.

A Darling Girl Christmas Story Eyeshadows

Tell Me Now: " Fiery orange with gold and pink sparkles" This is more of a dusty orange with gold and pink sparkles. I was hoping for this to be brighter and more metallic like the website swatch but it isn't so much on me.

Untamed: "Baby blue sheen on a light grey base" I didn't see this on the site so it may be an up and coming color. Ehhh I'm just okay about it. I'm not sure I like the baby blue sparkle on the base color. Not my cup of tea.

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out: "Brilliant jewel tone" Ohhhhhh my god this is droolworthy. Do you see the bombtastic blue with all the blue glitter/sparks? I'm just reminded of the type of dress you'd wear to a nice holiday party. I loved this.

Comparison time: Jeweled Taupe vs Tapestry of Obscenities.

I decided to swatch these over Glitter Glue whereas the first swatch of Tapestry of Obscenities was swatched without. Jeweled Taupe has a lighter bronze base where Tapestry of Obscenities had a darker, more cocoa base. Tapestry of Obscenities is not as gritty since it lacks the PET glitter that Jeweled Taupe has but it still has that multicolored sparkle. If you don't want to deal with Jeweled Taupe and its glitter, indulge in Tapestry of Obscenities!

Darling Girl Jeweled Taupe versus Tapestry of Obscenities

I'm really liking Red Ryder and You'll Shoot Your Eye Out! I was already really excited for the colors based off the website swatches and they definitely did not disappoint. Are there any colors you're thinking about getting?

I had a really great Christmas with my family and my boyfriend's family. I was a little nerdy and got a bunch of camera stuff (including a macro filters and an adapter) so I'm hoping to improve my photography skills! If you celebrated Christmas, how was it?
