IMATS LA 2013: People I Met, Make-Up Museum, and Body Art

Here's the other half of my IMATS LA posts, this time covering the cool people I saw, the amazing special FX exhibits in the Make-Up Museum, and the Body Artwork done by the various booths. I'll have my haul post up soon once I get my BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadows!

On Friday I made a beeline to the BFTE Cosmetics booth so I could be sure to take a picture with Phyrra (I posted this picture in the last post but it bears repeating). The BFTE Cosmetics booth was SO nice and the owners extremely kind. I can't wait to get my BFTE Cosmetics eyeshadows so I can swatch and do looks with them.

Seeing Yumemi/Yumemi Sakai MUA on Facebook  was a huge surprise. I came on Friday basically only expecting to see Phyrra and Liann/Sparklecrack Central (whom I totally forgot to take a picture with!). I was hanging out at the Makeup Geek booth, checking out the eyeshadows when Yumemi came up to the booth to talk to some of the people behind the booth. I thought she looked familiar and I saw "Yumemi" written on her badge but I still was a little hesitant when I asked "Are you Yumemi?"

We walked around a bit and then had to sit down to rest because our bags were so heavy. I pestered her to attend The Makeup Show LA so I'm hoping that was successful.

Marlena/Makeup Geek was the other person I got to see on Friday. I have been watching her channel for ages and was so excited to see her in person! It's just amazing to see her ideas come to fruition in her products.

That was it for people I saw on Friday, Saturday certainly didn't disappoint though!

I can't tell you how long I've been following Vanessa/NessasaryMakeup. She might have been the first or one of the first makeup bloggers I ever followed? I didn't know she was going and when I was at the Bdellium Tools booth with Alyson/The Gloss Menagerie, I saw her. I did the whole "Are you Vanessa of NessasaryMakeup", completely expecting to be wrong but yes it was Vanessa! She looked so cute with her hair and makeup!

Of course, I needed a picture with Amy/Shrinkle/Sugarpill Cosmetics. I had hoped to catch her on Friday but I wasn't able to until Saturday when I was waiting in line with Dawn/Make Up By Siryn and Durga Usagi. I am so excited for Sugarpill's new palettes and Chromalusts to release, feel free to check out the swatches of them here if you haven't already.

Oh and Yume/NinjaSovereign! Sorry for the slightly blurry picture! She looked so cute with her bright blue hair, eyebrows, and bedazzled clothing!

Group Picture! I hung out with all these lovely ladies for most of the day and they really made the show for me. I'm coming back next year just to hang out with them.

From left to right: Angie/GoldieStarling, Cora/VintageorTacky, Heather/Sokolum79, Dawn /Make Up By Siryn and also Mr. VintageorTacky (Cora's husband and pack mule for the day).

Last year, I spent tons of time with Alyson (and stayed overnight in her hotel room) yet neglected to take a picture with her. This year I only went Friday and Saturday but totally forgot to take a picture with her again. We're both going to ISSE Long Beach though so I'm determined to take a picture with her there!

Now onto the Make-Up Museum! The Make-Up Museum features some of the famous makeup and Special Effects work from film, television, and advertising. I loved seeing the work last year and I'm glad that they dedicated a large room of the show to this.

That's it for the show! I really hope you enjoyed this post. I'm hoping I'll enjoy next year's show more because there will have been more time in between; having only a six month gap between the 2012 and 2013 show was almost too much. Anyway my haul post should be up next week!
