Zeno Heat Treat Blemish Prevention Kit Pre and Post Two Weeks

So I've been using this little kit for about two weeks now. It was actually a surprise package that I think I won from a Beauty Etc. Magazine contest on their site. I think I'll update in two weeks so I can use it for a full month, but after two weeks I'm already pretty happy.

The first couple of times I used it though I was definitely unhappy and it's got to do with the package instructions.

This Heat Treat Blemish Prevention Kit comes with a 1% Salicylic Acid treatment and a Heat Treat Device and is supposed to provide daily prevention against blemishes. Within an hour, the Kit is supposed to kill 99.9% of acne causing bacteria in less than an hour. The device has a single power button to turn it on and off. You apply a thin layer of the treatment and then use the device to massage it into your skin until it's all absorbed, avoiding the eye area.

So here's my problem with it. To turn it off, the instructions say to press the power button twice firmly to turn it off. In reality, all you need to do is tap it twice. As in gently tap your finger on it and it'll turn off. The first time around I listened to the instructions and kept pressing firmly to turn it off. My thumbs were so sore after all that. I decided to google this product and read that many people are having problems turning it off too.

So if you own this and have been having troubles turning it off, ignore the packaging.

It doesn't get too hot, the only place that I'm sensitive to the heat is the top of my cheekbones/close to my eyes but the instructions say to avoid that region anyway.

I thought that I'd show before and after photos to help show results. My morning routine was the same for my entire face but with my night routine I used the Zeno Heat Treat as a treatment on my left cheek and my normal night treatment on my right cheek.

I will say that the Blemish Prevention Treatment serum is very thin and slightly greasy. It can leak out by just holding it tip side down.

Hopefully you can see that I have little to no acne on my left cheek, but a lot on my right.

Here's what happened during the two weeks of use:

I had some deviations from my normal skin routine. Normally I wash my face day and night with the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash, use witch hazel as a toner and then use a treatment. On a couple of nights I was too tired to wash my face properly so I used my Kirkland Daily Facial Cleansing Towels as a substitute.

The towels don't get my skin as clean as the face wash does so on the occasions that I do use it, I sometimes get clogged pores. After a couple of nights of not properly washing my face and using the Zeno Heat Treat, I noticed that while my normal skin routine side got clogged pores.

Overall, I haven't gotten any clogged pores or acne on the Zeno Heat Treat side. The only place I do get clogged pores are closer to my eye area where I'm not supposed to use the Zeno Heat Treat anyway.

I get a lot of hormonal acne around my time of the month and did not get any on my Zeno Heat Treat side. I noticed a lot of clogged pores on my normal skin routine cheek over the two weeks. I have been trying to keep my cell phone clean so I am trying to rule that out as a cause.

At the end of it, I'm happy with my results. My left cheek looks great in contrast to my right skin that still has a lot of clogged pores. Of course, there is a caveat to getting good results.

And that turn off is of course the price. When I went to Target this was $39.99 and if you purchased it you got a $5 Target giftcard. You can also buy the treatment separately, 1 oz for $11.99.

Would I still use it? Yeah I will, I am happy with my results but I don't enjoy the price and the fact that the packaging instructions aren't even right about how to turn the tool on!
